I'm probably being very dense ...

I'm putting my tac squads into rhinos with a plasma gun

So if the rhino moves can I shoot as if my marine didn't move? (2 shots at 12" or 1 at 24") or do I get just the 1 12" shot?

Cos I know you can fire heavy weapons from rhinos with no penalty

If the rhino moves the squad inside are treated as if they moved, which means while heavy weapons can fire they are snap firing, so need 6s to hit.

Rapid fire weapons still get the 2 shots at 12" 1 shot at 24" regardless of whether they move or not now. I think you're thinking of the last edition rules there.

Yep and remember if it moves more than 6" the unit inside cant shoot at all. If it stays still you can fire 2 heavy weapons from hatch no penalty.

I never got rapid fire.

normally stick to assault and yeah I was thinking of previous rules then after looking again.
