So, the club now has a starter set for Flames of War. This thread is for people to post about it... I want to see how much interest there is in the game... who might wish to start a force, and if so which factions they may play. It'll be a good way for me to judge whether buying the box set was a good use of club funds. So, have at it.

This set is by far the largest of the starter sets and has the largest rulebook included. It may take me a little longer to bring this one down but I shall do my best.
I am maybe kinda sorta interested in this one, have had a vague interest for years, with my eye on a British Desert Rats style army. But I didn't want to commit until I had a) played the game and b) Knew I would have opponents. Hence why I picked up the starter sets - the same barrier to entry that has kept me on the fence for years probably applies to other people too. Maybe here we can get a collective interest and give it a go.

Id love to give this ago, I've been interested in this for a while, if there were other people with armies would more than likely get one as well. Germans or Americans appeal to me!

Right I've finally finished putting all these guys together, bit of a fiddly job. Rob, Ian, you two seem to have shown the most interest in it, and Rob you have the rulebook... perhaps if I give the starter set to Rob he can have a look at things and you two can arrange a game one week to see how it plays?
