Firstly great spot by Eckian for spotting the new shop.

So I have spoke to Dave who was in the shop and Scott online briefly. This I have to say is a good little shop. And does have gaming tables as well for small and large games alike. This you can rent foe £2.50 for half a day and £5.00 for the day, this includes scenery.

They stock most things as well from games workshop, x wing , dropzone commander to warmachine. If they don't have it they will also order it for you.

I have spoke to the re discount and it looks like it will be a flat 10% they need to speak to each other! They will confirm what it is after that. ( this reflects that they are a brand new shop ) Dave did say however, that if an individual is buying loads then there may be some movement here. And also maybe a club incentive which moves slower but the club gets something if we hit a target.

He said about individual cards or one club discount card either way they are keen to monitor what we spend.

I think this is a really good shop and think we can all benefit from it, plus its local and can just pick up, so don't have to worry about post or anything.

Done well Rob, I am happy to leave it in your hands if you've already made such good progress. If they want to meet more of the club membership they are more than welcome to pop down on a Tuesday.

The table renting sounds reasonably priced, could be handy if I ever find myself at a loose end on a day off that isn't a Tuesday Razz

I popped in to A Fistful of Dice today, seems quite a nice little shop, let's hope it does well.

THe guy behind the counter said it was 10% and we'd all have membership cards that last for a year that are for individual use only... if someone wants one they have to join our club and get it through us (or SWG, I'm assuming they'll get a similar deal) They just want a list of names and email addresses from the club of the current membership, along with an indication of whether you'd be willing to be put on their mailing list or not.

I have emails for most of you, though I may need the surnames for one or two of you (not the Riches, we tell you apart by your bloody surnames, but anyone with a unique name then we probably don't know your surname - this includes you Ian, cos no-one calls ME that name... Razz

)

I plan to double check names/emails on Tuesday, but if you can't make it down this week then comment here saying name, email address, and whether you wanna go on the mailing list or not. I hope to send the member list to A Fistful of Dice next Wednesday.

Right I also got a Yes from Ian Eckworth to the mailing list, if anyone else wants to be on it please let me know. I'll have to assume no if I don't hear back from you, and I think it would be good to be on their mailing list, if only as a goodwill gesture in return for the discount. And hey, you never know, they might send you something that interests you...

Ah Dale, glad you've seen this, as Ian said it's on Fawcett Road, just opposite Manners Road. I need your surname for the list though. Got your email already.

Current on-going events at the shop

Magic wot is on Fridays - tonight (it runs alternating Fridays - and will become Friday night Magic as soon as we meet the criteria)

our monthly Board-game night - Tabletop Throw-down is on the 4th
(this is on the first Monday of every month)

Wednesday night Quick-draw this Wednesday (which is our general Card-game night which runs on alternating Wednesdays)

Friday night Firefight - this is our Skirmish night (this runs on alternating Friday - when magic is not on)

and on the Wednesdays when we are not doing quick draw we are planning to do Wednesday night War-zone which will be aimed at larger scale battles (but this is not up and running as yet)

Stephen I do but I was just planning to print out a load of copies and bring them to the club with me for members to fill out. Figured it would be easier.
