Continuing with the paddy theme I'll be bringing the pikey greenskins for a run and looking for a 40k game, open for suggestions snd maybe some bespoke odd rules that maybe included to honour the day.

Maelstrom game, objectives as usual. Plus...

Set some grots loose across the board. They move randomly every player turn. If you manage to be holding the grot (like an objective) at the end of the turn, roll D66. On most scores, it's just a grot, you've wasted your time. On a score of 66, you just caught a Leprechaun, and can claim his crock of gold! Immediately draw six maelstrom cards, and choose three to add to your active objectives for next turn. These three can be in addition to whatever limit the mission imposes.

Alternatively...

Drunks. Every unit takes a drink each turn. This debilitates all units, and IS cumulative. Anything that effect vehicles still takes effect (assume the crew are drinking) Any characteristic reductions go to a minimum of 1.

Turn 1, still sober, no effect.
Turn 2, bit wobbly, minus 1 BS.
Turn 3, getting cocky, but unsteady. Plus 1 WS, Plus 1 Ld, fail dangerous terrain on a 1 or a 2. Minus 1 I.
Turn 4, Feeling invincible, though no good reason why. Plus 1 T, Fearless, fail dangerous terrain on 1,2 or 3. Minus 1 more BS.
Turn 5, ok, bit too much now. Treat all difficult terrain as dangerous terrain. Minus 1 WS, Minus 1 Ld. Obj Secured units LOSE this ability. Minus 2 I.
Turn 6, Praying to the porcelain gods. Every unit immediately takes a pinning test, even if FEARLESS or ATSKNF. Minus 2 BS. Minus 1 WS. Minus 1 T. Any unit that gained Fearless from the effects of drink loses this ability.
Turn 7, War-Hammered. Everyone has Slow and Purposeful. Minus 1 WS. At the end of the player turn, before scoring objectives, every unit takes an Ld test at minus 5 Ld. Any unit that fails wanders 2D6" in a random direction in search of a kebab. If they come into contact with any other unit (friend or enemy) treat it as an assault between two opposing units.

I actually really want to play the latter scenario now some time, just for fun...

Ginge surely you are not advocating drinking and driving?

Maybe if the drivers are drinking after turn 2 all vehicles should only move half distance as they don't want to get caught by the po po.

I realy liked X-wing so ordered a small imperial group of ships that will hopefully be here by Tuesday.

Either way I will be down to hopefully play some X wing (if someone can loan me some ships just in case mine don't turn up)

could do a 3k doubles game. me and dale against ron, Jamie and Jason so me and dale have 1500 each and you 3 1k each? if I can I'd like to only go down to 1.5k as really want to use my knights with my new codex cause finished all 4 of them and not used them yet

but obviously if it can't be done i'll go with whatever as the main thing is everyone gets a game.

I think Jamie and Jason would want to just have a doubles. I can step aside if needs must and arrange an alternative- thanks tho.
