Stormtalon Rules

Hey guys,

Just painting up my Stormtalon and thought I had better check the rules for using it - in the new reference section of the rulebook it simply states it is a Flyer, no special rules.
Yet, the original rules in WD state that it has Hover Strike (+1 BS against various units) and is Supersonic, so was wondering if they just forgot to add these rules to the rulebook, or if I just use it as a normal flyer?

The reference section doesnt have all the rules so id assume that the hoverstrike is there still as its a special rule for that vehicle although most other flyers have better rules as hoverstrike u cant move so dont get a cover save for being skimmer for a turn. Plus read the hoverstrike rules, says changes unit type to skimmer for a turn, even though in the WD it was classed as skimmer

As codex overwrites rulebook, and that WD article IS effectively the Stormtalons codex, then yeah it get's hover strike. It is worth checking the FAQ though as the Ork flyers from the same article were altered in the FAQ - mainly it was taking away the rule that made them bloody fast and giving them the flyer rule instead, so was only bringing them in line with 6th ed, but worth checking the Storm Talon FAQ just in case.

Speaking of flyers, there is rumoured to be a GW flyer compendium on the way. It will include updated rules for all flyers, including the WD ones, plus the Burning Skies rules we have in our Crusade of Fire book and some other scenarios. We already have some scenarios in Imperial Armour Aeronautica, I am not sure if these will be reprints of those in a GW publication as opposed to FW or whether it will be entirely new. Dependant on price, I was wondering if there was any interest in picking up a club copy of this when it comes out?

I would vote go for it Ginge, plus uhmm what are the burning skies rules for flyers - as I now have one (all painte and stuff!) I need to at last look at them lol
