So, the club now has a starter set for Dropzone Commander. This thread is for people to post about it... I want to see how much interest there is in the game... who might wish to start a force, and if so which factions they may play. It'll be a good way for me to judge whether buying the box set was a good use of club funds. So, have at it.

I haven't yet played this one, but from flicking through the rulebook I have to say I'm kind of interested, and if I was going to start an army I would definitely go for United Colonies of Mankind. They look so much like they'd slot right into Aliens, as a fully fledged force of Colonial Marines rather than just a squad... I'm sold

Some cool races on this one. Would I be right in thinking this is like the old Epic gw game?

The scale doesn't seem quite so small as epic, and what I have read on the game play seems to imply it's got more manoeuvrability in it - you use your dropships to move your troops to where they are most critically needed. But I can certainly see why people will draw comparisons...
