Ok, this week I'm going to do a new thing for the first time... the Try It Table. The plan is to do these every now and again to show off something not regularly played to see if it takes anyones interest. Perhaps you've always cast a bit of an eye over proceedings but been too into your 40k to pay proper attention, or perhaps you're vaguely interested but don't want to buy any models without knowing how the game plays. Well this is what the Try It Table is for.

This week, myself, Rob W, Stephen, Scott and Rich A will bring down all the X-Wing models we can muster. We can probably set up 3-4 tables worth of X-Wing from this. While we can all happily play against each other for shits and giggles, the ideal idea is that anyone who is interested can join in and get a demo game. Have a look at some of the models, how the game system works etc.

Anyway, that's my plan, though obviously you can all play whatever else you want instead of/as well as X-Wing. But if any of you have ever had an inkling of a curiosity about it, perhaps keep your evening open rather than commit to a match.

Anyone who doesn't give a shit, feel free to arrange games as normal

I don't mind a but of xwing or 40k if someone really wants to play 40k. Or as jason didn't get a game of dystopian wars this week play him at that.

I like the look of X-Wing and have seen Scott play it a few times, looks interesting, but would prefer to have another game of Dystopian Wars as just learning the ruleset (and trying to get all my Marines painted so I can order the Russian Fleet).

On the topic, has anyone got any Land or Air Forces in Dystopian wars, or is it just mainly Naval?

I will get Niggles to bring his surrender monkeys down. Navy and air is my plan as land doesnt mix with naval and I pref the boats. Air forces can be really powerful but not all nations like Russia and France for instance have a strong force

I'll need to leave by about 22:30-23:00 at the latest is the only stipulation so can do 3k if you wanted or less.

Hate having to draw games to a close too early. Lets do 2.5k and look to get started as early as possible.

I was going to play him but dont mind if one of you wants to play him. I have enough models for 3 fleets so we could pair off or I could teach one of you warmachine. Not dragging 40k down as is too much to carry.

So to summarise...

X-wing - Scott, Rich A, Ginge, Stephen, and Rob W (but Rob isn't definite, he's loaned me his ships if he can't make it)
40k - Jamie vs Rich F, Adam vs Ron, Dale, Rob P
Dystopian Wars - Jason. Ian and Jon?

Which leaves Neil, probably coming but hasn't breathed a word about what he wants to do, and Rich H, who has offered to play Dystopian Wars, or teach someone Warmachine, or have a fiddle around with X-Wing. Anything but 40k basically... clearly he's still sulking about having to swap all his blowpipes for lasguns.

So we'll set up 3 x 40k tables, 1 or 2 dystopian wars tables, and I plan to squeeze three 4x4 tables onto the black folding tables for the x-wing tables. We've got room for all that, be good to see a good crowd down the club again

As it's been so long since playing 40k I'd like to watch Jamie and riches game and then maybe Jamie would like a game next week
