Club Night - 14/01/13

OK guys, tonight we'll be kicking off the Crusade of Fire campaign!

Some of you will have flags already. Others of you will not. If you're part of the latter, bring a few basic paints with you so you can paint your flags up on the night.

The plan is to claim territory as soon as we can and then hopefully play our first game too, so bring a 2k army with you too. If you haven't got time to game, then please still turn up anyway, we need you to claim your stake on the map.

The flags will need to be painted up with the pole and the first bit of the flag in the team colour, and the tip of the flag in your personal colour. As there were a few absentees tonight we picked the best colours we could think of for your respective armies.

Neutral Team - Green (Orks)
Ginge - Red tip (Speed Freaks)
Rob W - Black/White tip (Goff)

Imperial Team - Red
Neil - Silver tip
Rob P - Shadow Grey tip
Tim - Black tip
Jason - Yellow tip

Chaos Team - Black
Tom - Pink tip
Rich A - Dark Blue tip
Rich F - Bronze tip
Rich H - Solid black colour was suggested as your army is styled as the Black Legion.

Would have made more sense for me to be bronze as is trim colour of army and rich f to have silver due to the iron warrior nature of his army but if hes done his already il do mine silver as plain black will look naff.

Did Neil mention Sunday? We were gona go club if its available, he was meant to ask ginge to ask Dave. Was thinking some double 40k of fantasy if anyone else interested. I will grab my flags and paint em up for Monday too.

Ironically it was suggested that Bronze would work for the Iron Warriors. Neil seemed to think that you'd be happy with having the easiest flags to paint. But if you and Rich F sort it out between yourselves I don't mind. Rob will be giving Rich his flags at work, so if he checks the forum before he gets' his paint brushes out you're laughing.

Neil didn't tell me to ask Dave about the rooms availability, he just asked if I wanted to come down Sunday. I can't make it, as I plan to be in the pub watching the football (Man Utd vs Liverpool and Arsenal vs Man City.) Might be worth you popping in one night this week to find out if the room is free mate.

Lessons for the future - if you want Neil to pass along a message, give him a note. Don't trust him with words

He described the paint scheme as being the tip of the flag pole, but from reading your post was he meant to say the tip of the flag itself?? So effectively for Chaos, half the flag would be black and the other half your team colour?

My iron warriors are silver with bronze trim, but black and bronze does seem more black legion.

I'm happy to do mine plain black or black and silver if you'd prefer the black and bronze Rich? Not sure how/if that effects anthing though... Ginge you ok for black/silver or want me to stick with black?

It's the flag itself that will be half and half - I just need both colours to be clearly recognisable. My first thought was flag individual colour flagpole team colour but I felt it might be hard to tell the team colour in that situation, hence why the team colour is gonna creep across half the flag.

Black and Silver for you and Black/Bronze for Rich H is fine by me, so long as everyone has different colour combos it doesn't really matter.

and as far as the whole flag thing I said the tip of the flag, not the tip of the flag pole, thought it was self explanatory

I do know the film well, and am in fact ashamed and embarrassed that I missed that one. Clearly been too long since I've seen it, though Oddball does steal the show somewhat...

Roberto. As you got spanked by Neil Monday do you want to play our game or do you have plans?

Yes I was smashed, howerver is in not the first round of the campaign?

I just thought we were setting it up as we wont know who were playing until weve done the map. I could be wrong, ginge?

The standard thing week by week will be pick our fights to be played on the following week, but as we've already effectively lost a week (I originally planned to do setup last Monday, but forgot to give flags out before christmas) I hoped we'd be able to do setup then play our first games this Monday, and finally arrange games for next week.

Ok no problemo I shall write up some bits then and get building my 2nd forgefiend mwahaha
