Tuesday 8th July

Ok, so Rich F, Neil, Rich H and Stephen will be fighting it out in a fantasy four way, and Rob has asked me to show him the ropes with 7th edition.

Who else is attending and what are you bringing?

I will be down playing 40k. Ron and myself will be teaming up for a game of doubles. We are looking for a doubles team to play against 1k points per person.

Looking forward to it, traditional 7th addition no limitations. Any takers?

Rich F - No, it's Battle Royale. It's in the other scenarios part of the big rulebook - I can't remember the page off the top of my head but your campaign pack should have a page reference on the scenario sheet.

As the person who finished first, you'll be setting up first and going first. Each phase will take turn order - so you will move your stuff, then player 2 will move theirs and so on. Then the magic phase you take it in turns to cast spells (or pass) the shooting phase goes round and then all combats are fought in an order of YOUR choosing... that's the advantage of going first. The disadvantage of going first is you're in the middle with the largest army so if they have any sense they'll team up on you.

Having said all this... magic should be fairly simple... the only mage left alive is Rich Hs Slaan, so he'll be the only one attempting to cast spells, and with 3 players worth of dispel dice to get past he'll have to throw all the spells at one target really...

Wonder whos going to be that target...............

Well I'm not aware of any conspiracies but I could take an educated guess...

Kill anything shorter than a skink, well that narrows it down....

This game turn thing helps us a lot and would more so had more mages got through as we would get to use them before cannons kill them.

Question on my Slaans magic item, says when unit or him takes a wound anything from that point on is minus 1 to hit, as this is basically a survivors game does that instantly apply or will I need to lose another guy first?

No good point you are effectively continuing the fight, and any one-shot items used don't refresh, you keep the same spells... so yeah, you can keep that modifier

This is why I go with Ginge... in my class at primary school there were 25 kids, 3 called Ian. When I worked for the Mod there were 20 blokes on watch, 4 of them called Ian. In both those situations, I was the only Ginger. Far easier.

And yes Rob, our game is still on.
