| Morning
I will be down looking for a 40K game if there are any takers.
I will probably bring my Necron List from Throne of Skulls (1875 points).
Thanks

| Adam i'll give your Necron army a run for it's money. I'm keen to urn a mixed Mech/Marine force to see how it performs. | |

| Games Workshop scored me as 18 out of 70. Not sure how their scoring works but I was pleased.
I won 3 from 5 and scored 73 victory points from the five games which I was pleased with.
Unfortunately I lost to Imperial Fists and Tyranids (by 1 point on last roll). I did beat Raven Guard/IG, Harlequins/Tau and CSM very convincingly.
It was in general good fun although my last opponent (the CSM player) had been spanked in his first four games and then I beat him 19 - 2 (and got domination off for 6 VP). His list has no hope against most of the other forces there and he had an interesting interpretations on some of the rules. It was a bit like kicking a puppy.

| Yeah I've been there before, in a normal game i'd take it easy on the new person who doesn't really know what they're doing, but in a tournament you have to get as many points as you can so, sorry buddy...
I'll happily sit down after the game with them and break down where I think they made errors, where an experienced player might have chose a different course of action. But that's an after action review once the dust has settled...
Actually, tell a lie. The last tournament I went to I knew I wasn't gonna win, and in the game my opponent had a 4 heavy bolter devastator squad 2 inches from my meganobz. He was about to shoot them. I suggested he instead shot my lone ork that was making a dash for an objective I had the score card for. Cos he was NEVER going to kill the meganobz. He wasn't even going to do enough damage to survive the next turn, and he had most definitely lost. He may as well deny me the 1 point extra. Which he did. But that one point would have made pretty much no difference come the end of the day.
So what kind of unusual interpretations did the guy have?

| It seemed pretty obvious he had a loose understanding of the rules anyway.
However, the major thing revolved around the tactical objective cards - we were playing the mission where you only get cards if you hold objectives. He thought as he had three at the end of his turn he could draw three more cards for turn 2. I am/was pretty sure that you only draw them at the start of your turn and as he only had one at the start of his turn the interpretation was important.

| Yeah objectives are drawn at the start of the turn in that one, otherwise it'd be too easy, you could throw something on every objective, grab 6 cards, then watch as your overextended forces get pasted back, and it wouldn't matter. Don't get me wrong, I've thrown units on to objectives they can't possibly hold in that scenario, but only to force my opponent to commit something to dealing with them, diverting forces that could be used elsewhere. | |
