| So, the club now has a starter set for X-Wing. This thread is for people to post about it... I want to see how much interest there is in the game... who might wish to start a force, and if so which factions they may play. It'll be a good way for me to judge whether buying the box set was a good use of club funds. So, have at it. | |

| Having played a few games of this now (being ready painted and built meant this was the first game unpacked and played unsurprisingly) I have to say I like it, and am interested in perhaps picking up some models and making myself a small force at some point, if others are interested too. I am leaning a little towards the Imperial side, but haven't put too much thought into it yet... | |

| Yes I'd certainly like to play a larger game too. With a campaign game and campaign rolls to do I probably won't have time this week, but perhaps one of the upcoming weeks when you are all learning 7th edition and I am burying my head in the sand to avoid confusing myself in the run up to a tournament, I shall find the time to play a couple more games | |

| Ian I don't believe they've released any capital ships for the Empire, I think the scale would be a bit too much... they do a Rebel Blockade Runner, but it's about £70 (compared to about £12 for an x-wing) and it seems to be quite a sizeable model. So I don't believe you could mix, but it's a bit of a hypothetical question anyway. Sorta like asking if you could run a Hive Tyrant and an Emperor class titan in the same 40k force... hypothetically there'd be a rule against it, but it isn't a rule they are gonna have to write any time soon... | |

| Except now you can have a hive tyrant and titans in same army. | |

| Well for one I haven't read that yet...
For two, Tyranids have bio titans, why would they want a titan? Who is driving it? A genestealer? And if someone offered to give you a game against it, would you say yes or would you call bullshit on that combo...
And for three, given there is no model for an Emperor class titan (and the size it would be to scale I don't think there will be one soon) leaves the original comparison to mixing rebel fighters with Imperial capitol ships intact...

| Id rather have a walking city than a giant cockroach any day. Unbound literally means unbound. Heres my Mephiston leading an army of broadsides and carnifex. Enjoy. | |

| Fair enough. Ok, in that case, I *think* X-Wing is stricter in it's rules, but it's still a completely hypothetical ruling Anyway, enough 40k talk, this is supposed to be the X-Wing thread | |

| I have now bought pretty much all I want for the Imperial Fleet, though I may pick up a Tie Bomber at some point potentially. Or keep an eye on future releases. But so far I am happy with my collection. Rob W has a large rebel alliance. And Scott has brought balance to the force by collecting some of each.
So if anyone wants to play with a more varied fleet before taking the plunge into this system, this can be easily arranged...

| Sweet, now I need to wait and see if you can mix factions. Although I doubt this will happen. | |

| After this coming Tuesday's "practice game" against Ginge, and already having my interest already perked by this game (after having downloaded and read all the free pds from FFG, and found some cool Android Apps for listbuilding and miniature hunting) I wondered if anybody would be interested in the TIe Fighters that come in the Core box as it looks like I am going to be joining the Rebels, or maybe Scum & Tyranny.
And yes, I'm afraid to say that the idea of running a YT-1300 around blasting at TIE fighters has pretty much sealed the deal for me (sweet memories of Star Wars Galaxies).....

| Which core box are you picking up Jason? The force awakens one with TIE FOs or the original one? I'd recommend the Force Awakens one as the damage deck has been updated... and in which case I'd happily take the TIE/FOs off your hands... I've got enough basic TIEs... but of course that does give you the newer X-Wing to start your rebellion with... The old and new sections of each faction CAN be mixed freely by the way. But if you've got your heart set on the old style box don't let me stop you | |

| Well I prefer the look of the t-65 compared to the newer t-70, but as it contains the latest rules and damage cards I'll probably get the force awakens set. After that, probably a x-wing expansion, a x-wing and a yt-1300. | |
