As I mentioned last night 30k rules are different from 40k and the points system is different to balance that out. 30k and 40k are not meant to be mixed and for good reason. There are way more weapons in 30k to hurt a primarch there are hugely less in 40k. This is my non bias perspective as we will most likely be on the same team being the same army n all.

I hadn't considered that, they do tend to have entire squads of plasmaguns in 30k don't they? On the other hand, in apoc, it might be the only environment where theres enough killy stuff around to feel like 30k. I would not consider him appropriate for a normal game. He's a maybe for apoc.

Anyone else with further thoughts?

Also what I will do is bring his rules down on Tues then people could get a better idea of what Agron is and if they are happy.

Ive had a look at his rules and stats and out of all the primarchs he is probably the weakest rules wise. He is a combat monster ofc but hes got to get there. He only has a 3+ 4++ and his stats are less than a bloodthirster and his fnp is only 6 and IWND is less effective in 7th so his survivability isnt as high as 30k rules set. So with that in mind I dont mind neil using him if he wants to.

Well as Rich was the biggest stumbling block I guess Neil is ok to use him in the apoc game at the end of the challenge... IF he's painted of course. No unpainted models will be allowed. This is a painting challenge at the end of the day! Razz

power weapon on long fangs? that's the guy you want to take the first hit so you don't lose a heavy weapon, I wouldn't spend points on an ablative wound

I was hopping this was going to kick me up the backside to get painting again, which it slowly has work and rugby commitments have hampered me considerably, and I am miles behind! although I can submit it late it will be soo late it, I think the best to drop out of this challenge

I hope this wont cause any issues.

At least I have started to get into painting again

Absolutely no issues Rob, this was a general "kick yourself up the backside" challenge for everyone, it's no big deal. The first one I ran of these where there were only four of us and we were all building entirely new armies and we also all wrote narrative to go along with it, yeah, that would have been awkward. But I've found as I've made these things more open and less intensive it has become less important if we lose people along the way.

Glad to see you're getting some painting done, even if real life does have the annoying habit of getting in the way. tsk Rolling Eyes "life, huh?"

Life is annoying. I think back to all that time I wasted when I was younger and would kill for it now. That said ive basically given up xbox for a while, well severely reduced my time on it and im painting up till midnight some nights as ive got so much I want to get done. Although my first 500 was 2 models im also painting lord of skulls and a helbrute plus club stuff.

The last xbox game I bought was Fifa 06... a long time ago I decided that I had to pick a hobby to receive my money. I had a growing dvd collection, I liked computer games, I liked Warhammer... I got the most enjoyment out of warhammer so went with that. Still get the occasional dvd for the really good movies (or stupidly cheap movies) but haven't bought a computer game in years...

I rarely buy games and only when they get cheaper. As a gold account holder though I get 2free games a month to download and at least 1 in every 4 is a decent one like halo or civilization. But I am spending more time painting and watching breaking bad atm.

Science bitches!

Anyway, apart from that slight slip off topic...

Thus far we have scores of:

Ginge, on time, CP game played. - 6
Rich H, on time, CP (kinda) game played - 6
Ian, CP game played - 1
Tim, on time, CP game played - 6
Neil, CP game played, could still make late deadline - 1
Scott, no game yet, aiming for late deadline... and what the hell if he gets a game in next week we'll allow that too. - 0

That leaves Jamie, Oz and Alan. How are you guys getting on?

OK, edited. I asked your opponent Neil, and he said your army was all painted. Tit. He was probably too busy removing models from the table to pay close attention to what killed them Razz

The next phase of my Tale...

7 Meganobz, I bosspole, 3 pairs of Killsaws, 3 combi skorchas. About 370 points
Galactika Thrakkit (My Ghazzkul counts as) 225 points
Big Mek in mega armour with KFF - about 160 ish
Big Mek in Mega Armour with Tellyporta-Blasta - no idea, probably about 100.

Basically, I want to paint all my mega armoured stuff in one sitting. There are no extra points available for going over the 500 like this, I just have to make sure I paint at least 500 next period and the period after. So more fool me really... Razz

How is everyone getting on? I fear I am going to have to aim for the late points this month, as while I do have the time to finish my Meganobz before the deadline, painting this much YELLOW is fairly tough on the motivation levels. Doubt I shall keep at it hard enough to finish by Tuesday, but next week is achievable... just get me down to the detail level and away from that dreaded base colour Razz

Better than last month. I am aiming for the one week late point. I am not going to be there this week so I'm going to miss out on the point for the 1k game.

You don't HAVE to play your game on deadline night, you can play it at any time, and as we extended the courtesy to Scott last month I will do the same this time... if anyone gets a 1k game in by the late deadline, it will still count for the bonus points.

Hell, this gives me a chance too Razz

Right, my next batch to paint... (optimistic eh, not even finished this periods batch yet!) will be...

Painboy
Truk
20 boyz inc Nob bosspole (No PK)
The bosses Battlewagon (the landraider shaped one)

which is part of my army but only gets me to about 410 points, so to tip me over the threshold, 10 Stormboyz too.

31 infantry and 2 vehicles in 2 months. I managed it last time... however this month I have failed to complete 10 infantry. Was a lot easier when I was painting mobs of boyz with one hint of yellow per model, these mega armoured buggers are mostly yellow with a teeny bit of metal/green flesh. Far harder Razz

I have failed dramatically. unfortunately life has stolen my time away (new baby and launching my own business kinda does that) and all I've painted from my original 500 points is one commissiar!

I need tob get some painting done so my 500 points in the next stage is a tactical squad with rhino and a 5 man terminator squad, all with chain fists and a heavy flamer. I think that'll drop me just short of 500 points so i'll get my tarantula painted as well.

Dunno, might actually get this done this quarter!
